Lavender, 24

San Francisco, CA

Amid the drama and conflicts of living with nine strangers, Lavender is very down to earth. In fact, she describes herself as “one with the Earth.” Lavender is the leader of the environmentalist group, Animals Need Love As Well, and although she assures our lawyers she in no way participates in bestiality, she does not see why everything God created should not share free love.
An aspiring writer, Lavender believes that Hendry David Thoreau’s Walden is a load of cow pies and is planning to write her own novel about living in the wilderness. When dealing with her Housemates, Lavender likes to keep it au naturale.

What made you decide to audition for Housemates?
Most people don’t understand the damaging things they are doing to Mother Earth. I thought if I went on a television show I could teach them how to live for the Earth, not just for themselves.

Before coming on Housemates, what was a normal day like for you?
I wake up at dawn, and feed my pets – I have 4 dogs, 7 cats, 3 birds, 9 hamsters, a pig, and my boyfriend, Ted. Then, I meditate for two hours; sometimes I’ll take a shower afterwards, but never shave my legs. After that I’ll sit outside and stare until it gets dark. Then my friends will come over and we’ll sit around my hookah and talk about the things we stared at that day. Normally, I’ll just pass out until the morning and repeat the exciting day.

What do you do in your spare time? What do you aspire to be?
In my spare time I run my environmentalist group, Animals Need Love As Well. One day I aspire to be the President of the United States so I can at least make sure that part of the Earth is living in peace.

What’s the best thing about you? What’s the worst thing about you?
The best thing about me is the way I take care of the environment. The worst thing about me is probably my tendency to see right through people. Or the Chlamydia.

Movie: Woodstock
Song: Anything by Janis Joplin
TV Show: Captain Planet
Color: Green
State Capital: Washington, D.C.

What’s your stripper name (middle name + home state)? Marigold California

What was your biggest concern about living with nine strangers?
I like to walk around the house naked. I mean I couldn’t care less if they minded, but I don’t want to make enemies..

How long did it take you to get used to the cameras?
Right away. They never bothered me. God is always watching me, so why not a few cameramen, or a couple thousand people for that matter.

What were your first impressions of the other housemates?
Andy: I like that he’s not afraid to express his love for men.

Becka: Nothing, actually.

Crunch: He smokes. I like that in man.

Eric: I like his fashion sense – always wearing a bandana.

Kat : She needs a good meditation session.

Kristin: Shaves too much. She needs to free herself.

Matt: I wanted to punch him and I’m not often violent.

Nicki: She will be so easy to control.

Sufjan: He has a terrible taste in music.

Describe your Housemates experience in three words. Enlightening, naked, crabs.
